Frequently asked questions
Opportunity identification – monitoring RFPs (Requests for Proposal), tenders, invitations to bid, and other solicitations for consulting services.
Proposal development – coordinating the production of the formal bid document: refining scope, crafting methodology and approach, pulling in relevant case studies, estimating hours and resources, pricing, and packaging a compelling narrative about why our firm and team are best suited.
Research & diagnosis – gathering data, meetings with potential stakeholders, analysing processes to understand how the client organisation works and where there are problems or opportunities.
Implementation / support – helping the client put the agreed changes into action: that might be process redesign, training, project management, systems change.
Client relationship & project management – communicating with the client, managing timelines, deliverables, budget, coordinating different team members and stakeholders.
Publication – contribute to the thought‑leadership efforts by drafting and co‑authoring insightful articles, white papers, or other substantive publications that articulate our expertise, highlight our engagements and amplify our impact.
No, our consultancy is truly global and we welcome consultants based anywhere. What matters most is strong expertise, the ability to collaborate across time zones, and a commitment to delivering impact in diverse settings.
However, it is important to also note that If you’re residing in a particular country, you’re free to work with us provided you remain compliant with the laws of the country where you live (e.g., visa, tax, employment-law).
Our clients include national and sub‑national governments, public‑sector agencies, international donors and development banks, private‑sector healthcare providers and investors, academic and research institutions and civil‑society/third‑sector organisations. We partner across the public, private and non‑profit sectors to deliver global health impact. We’ve recently expanded into our Creative Health portfolio and are delighted to be working with a diverse group of creatives, from visual artists to dancers and musicians.
We bring a combination of global health technical depth and local contextual awareness. Our focus is on actionable & sustainable solutions (not just high-level recommendations). We emphasise partnership, capacity-building, health equity and measurable impact. We also work across multiple health domains (infectious disease, mental health, maternal & child health, NCDs, digital health, etc) and strategic challenges.
You’ll get a bit of both. There will definitely be times when Aceso shares opportunities with you, especially when they align with your interests and expertise. Meanwhile, if you come across a bid that we’re not currently pursuing but it interests you, you’re absolutely encouraged to reach out to one of the directors to discuss getting involved.
The compensation structure for consultants at our firm is built on the principle that consultants are rewarded directly through the success of the projects they help bring in and deliver. When a project bid is successful, the consultants involved receive 90% of the net revenue generated for consultancy by that project, while the company retains the remaining 10%.
The precise amount you’ll be paid depends on the type and scope of the project you worked on and most importantly, on the arrangement you agree with your director for how many days you will be working on that specific engagement. So while the revenue-split rule stays the same (90% to consultants, 10% to the company), the actual payment varies because it’s based on how much effort (i.e., days/deliverables) you commit and the nature of the successful bid you participated in.
Our culture is collaborative, mission-oriented and values-driven. We work across geographies, health systems and sectors, so we emphasise adaptability, respect for diverse contexts and teamwork.
We prioritise learning and growth. Given the dynamic nature of global health work, being curious, open to new challenges and willing to learn from local partners is valued.
Because we operate globally (in different time zones, cultures, health systems), we also emphasise flexibility, cultural humility and the ability to communicate clearly across regions and teams.
Autonomous working is also important; as a consultant there is an expectation that you are solution focused and able to manage your time effectively.
Working at AGHC means doing meaningful, high-stakes work but we ensure you’re part of a team that values your life outside the project. We aim for periods of intense focus when needed and then time to recharge, reflect and reset.
